ON HIS FAVORITE BRIDGE……..
I am driving leaving the city to cross a bridge.
But the traffic is backed up in all directions going my way.
Many drivers parked their vehicle on the shoulder and walks towards the commotion going on on the bridge.
By the time I drive through the residential area to park and walk back to where the commotion is taken place, the traffic had cleared…
except to where there is about twenty vehicles parked on the side walk of the bridge away from the traffic lane.
I walk up where the group of people is gathered on a section of the bridge, not far from their parked vehicles.
They are standing in a circle around someone.
I could not see past the people blocking my view.
I tippy toe stretching my neck up ward trying to path my way between the people in front of me.
I ask one person,
“What is happening?”
he shouts.
“The man is dying and came here on his favorite bridge to die. Today is his last day!”
I continue to push my way through until I see that it was my adopted grandAnthony. I get up closer to him, lying on a stretcher in white sheets, blanket and white clothing.
“Tony!”
I shouts,
“What are you doing? Get out of that bed and get up!”
He is so happy to see me, he sits up and he says,
“My girl, I am so glad to see you. My life has come back to me. Ha ha ha… Hey…!
I will live. Get me out of here!”
